Under Ontario's G1 licence rules, a G1 driver's front-seat passenger must be:

G1 requires an accompanying driver in the front seat who has held a full Class G (or higher) Ontario licence for at least 4 years and whose own BAC is below 0.05. This ensures a qualified mentor is always monitoring the new driver.
