Ontario's distracted driving law makes it illegal to:

Holding or manipulating a hand-held device while driving — including at red lights, while stopped in traffic — is illegal in Ontario. Fines can exceed $600 for a first offence and include three or more demerit points. Hands-free use is permitted if the device is mounted.
