What We Collect
We believe in collecting only what is necessary to provide you with a great learning experience. When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name and email address. As you use our practice tests, we collect your answers, scores, and progress data to personalize your learning journey.
We do not collect any sensitive personal information beyond what is required for your account and learning progress.
How We Use Your Information
Your information is used solely to power the MyDL.ca driving test practice service:
- Tracking your quiz progress and scores across sessions
- Adapting practice questions to focus on areas where you need improvement
- Saving your preferences and learning history
- Providing you with performance insights and study recommendations
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
Cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is a privacy-first analytics solution. It does not use cookies and does not collect personal information or track individual visitors. No cookie consent banner is required.
Session cookies may be used solely to maintain your login state. These are essential for the service to function and are not used for tracking.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Google OAuth — for secure account authentication
- Cloudflare — for hosting, CDN, analytics, and data storage
These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them. We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.
Your Rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you

You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon deletion, your data is soft-deleted immediately and permanently removed within 30 days.
Data Retention
We retain your learning progress data (quiz scores, mastery levels, answer history) for a maximum of 2 years from your last activity. After this period, data is automatically purged.
Mock exam session records are retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted.
If you delete your account, all personal data is soft-deleted immediately and permanently removed within 30 days.
Users Under 18
In Canada, individuals as young as 16 may apply for a learner's permit. MyDL.ca may therefore be used by minors aged 14–17.
We do not knowingly collect more data from minors than from adult users. All users receive the same data minimization protections. We collect only what is strictly necessary: name, email (via Google OAuth), and learning progress.
If you are under 18, we encourage you to review this policy with a parent or guardian. In some provinces, parental consent may be required for users under 16.
If a parent or guardian believes their child's data has been collected inappropriately, please contact us at privacy@mydl.ca and we will delete the account promptly.
Cross-Border Data Transfer
Your data is stored and processed by Cloudflare on servers located globally, including in the United States and Canada. By using MyDL.ca, you consent to the transfer of your information to facilities outside your province or country of residence.
We have a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) with Cloudflare to ensure your data is handled in accordance with Canadian privacy law, including PIPEDA.
Quebec Residents: In accordance with Quebec's Law 25 (Act Respecting the Protection of Personal Information in the Private Sector), we have conducted a privacy impact assessment for cross-border data transfers. Your data rights under Quebec law are fully respected.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a data breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required by PIPEDA, as soon as feasible after discovery.
CASL Compliance
We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We will never send you commercial electronic messages without your express consent. If we introduce email communications in the future, you will be asked to opt in with a clear, separate, unpreselected checkbox.
